Shanghai, China — October 2026 — Synlotic Biotech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has reached a major manufacturing milestone with the Shandong GMP facility now moving into trial production. The 7,000 m² site in Shandong, combined with the existing 2,500 m² GMP plant in Shanghai, brings Synlotic’s total GMP manufacturing footprint to 9,500 m² — a clear statement of intent in the synthetic biology active ingredients space.
The Shandong plant is designed around Synlotic’s core strength: enzyme-directed catalysis. Unlike conventional chemical synthesis, this solvent-free bioprocess delivers higher purity, fewer impurities and consistent batch-to-batch quality, while reducing costs by more than 15%. The facility integrates GMP-standard fermentation lines and multi-stage separation and purification systems, taking high-purity cosmetic actives from strain to industrial scale. Strategically, Shandong is built to produce a portfolio of green active ingredients at industrial volume, including Pro-Xylane (HPTP), ergothioneine, ectoin, PDRN and other high-performance cosmetic actives. Synlotic’s flagship HPTP alone is backed by three invention patents, with an annual output of 60 tons and a design capacity of 200 tons, positioning the company as a leading S-HPTP supplier in China. With the Shandong site coming online, total capacity becomes significantly more scalable and supply security improves for formulators across Asia and beyond.
