Product information: 

Ection was first isolated by Galinski in 1985 from the extreme halophilic Rhodospirillum exthioides in the salt lakes of the Wadi Natron Desert in Egypt. Ectoin (also known as tetrahydromethylpyrimidine carboxylic acid, Ectoin, EC) is an amino acid derivative derived from microbial extracts in high temperature, high salt, and high UV environments. It can improve damaged, aged or stressed, and irritated skin, promoting skin barrier repair and long-term hydration and protect against environmental stressors. Most excitingly, it can offer a wealth of similar properties for skin, such as binding water to the skin to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL) as well as reducing inflammation.

Efficacy test:

Hyaluronidase is a kind of endogenous aminohexose enzyme that causes the decomposition of hyaluronic acid, which has strong correlation with inflammation and allergy. Skin soothing efficacy was verified by inhibition of hyaluronidase activity. The results showed that when the concentration of Ectoin was 0.1%, its inhibition rate of hyaluronidase activity was 57.9%, indicating that the test sample had a certain soothing effect.
